The Marin City Community Service District’s Seniors are on the Move...

Through a grant made possible from the Marin Community Foundation, The District has been successful in forming a Core Team and Task Force with the focus on ensuring seniors are a priority in the District. The team has been successful in having the governing board to create a standing committee as part of the Board’s protocol.

In addition the core team is creating assignments and broadening the awareness of the value of senior participation… The seniors are active and ready to change the culture and attitudes of how Marin City is viewed… They cannot do it alone. We are looking for representation from every senior organization, faith based and housing complex in Marin City… the next meeting is Wednesday May 8. 2019 at 2:30pm. See you there!

ISOJI community meetings are held every first Friday, 11:00 – 1:00, at the Marin City Senior Center, 640 Drake Ave. Meetings open to the public. Lunch is on us!

Under the Leadership of Ricardo Moncrief “Isoji” is Nigerian for renaissance, revitalization or rebirth. Since 2000, ISOJI has been a forum for Marin City residents, community leaders, and friends to gather, discuss, and strategize next steps toward greater community well-being, social equity, and self-empowerment.

Their mission, as a neutral strategic catalyst, is to facilitate, coordinate and implement strategic actions that embed equity building features into marginalized social, health, and economic systems that translate into more efficient systems, collective impacts, visible accountability, and higher degrees of public trust. A prime motive of their mission is to increase the level of trust and accountability between leaders, the services and programs they oversee, and community members: residents, families, and employees.
